Kathmandu, May 24
Health officials of Nepal say they are testing Health Minister Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal and over 100 officials of the ministry for coronavirus as a part of the contact tracing of a coronavirus-infected person.
Earlier last week, a doctor of the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division under the ministry, who had attended a meeting at the ministry recently, had tested positive for the virus.
Now, it has been found that Minister Dhakal, State Minister Nawa Raj Rawat, Secretary Yadav Koirala, and others were in contact with the infected doctor; hence, they will undergo tests soon, according to Raghu Ram Bista, the chief of the Staff Administration Division of the ministry.
Currently, the staff who were in primary contact with the infected doctor have been quarantined at their homes, it has been learned.
