Birgunj: 21 Covid-19 patients discharged after recovery

Hospital staff bidding farewell to the Covid-19 recovered patients in Gandak Hospital, on Tuesday.

An additional 21 people of Parsa have been sent back to their homes after recovering from Covid-19. The patients were at Gandak Hospital, operating as a branch of Narayani Hospital.

All the patients were discharged last night. The hospital staff and Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Bijay Kumar Sarawagi bid farewell to the patients with flowers.

The patients were sent back after their two consecutive polymerase chain reaction tests came negative. According to Dr Uday Narayna Singh, a total of 30 patients including six women and 24 men are now in isolation while nine of them are being treated for coronavirus.

Meanwhile, a total of 72 people have been sent back home from Narayani Hospital, including 18 on Sunday and 43 on Monday.

The hospital has collected a total of 3,080 swab samples where 2,955 tested negative.
