Kathmandu, March 28

The national flag carrier, Nepal Airlines Corporation, is preparing to send a wide-body aircraft to Australia in the first week of April to evacuate the Australians who are living here amid the coronavirus infection fears.

The Australian Embassy in Kathmandu had taken initiatives to take the Australians back home upon multiple requests from themselves and other stakeholders.

Of late, many European countries have been evacuating their citizens from Nepal. They have been using Qatar Airways for this purpose.

Meanwhile, an aircraft of the NAC took off the Kathmandu airport for Guangzhou of China this afternoon to fetch various medical equipment required in the test of suspected Covid-19 patients and their treatment. The aircraft will arrive back in the capital in the wee hours on Sunday.
