Pokhara, March 26
A man who was quarantined after coming back from India amid the coronavirus infection fears has died in Rupa rural municipality, near Pokhara, of Kaski district.
The family and local authorities say Bishwa Bandhu Nepali, 50, did not have any symptoms of the infection. However, he was required to stay in quarantine as he had returned home from Hyderbad of India just 12 days ago.
The local government had made it mandatory for those who recently returned home from foreign countries to stay in quarantine since Tuesday so as to protect the locals from the infection.
After Nepali did not wake up from his nap on Wednesday afternoon, he was rushed to the Western Regional Hospital in Pokhara for treatment. However, the hospital declared him dead on arrival.
The family has informed that Nepali was suffering from some heart and liver-related ailments, according to rural municipality’s chief administrative officer Bishnu Prasad Pokharel.
“The hospital is examining his body further,” the municipality’s chief Nawa Raj Ojha says, “Other things will be found out after the test.”
