Dozens detained in Kathmandu for defying lockdown

Kathmandu, March 28

Police in Kathmandu on Saturday morning detained nearly 150 members of the public in various places of the city after they defied the administration’s order not to leave the houses during the lockdown.

As fo 8 am this morning, police detained 130 men and nine women from various places of the valley, according to police.

Bishwa Raj Pokharel, the chief of the Metropolitan Police Commissioner’s Office, says, “We all have understood what the lockdown is and what it is for. No one should be spared as one person’s negligence might make the entire community infected.”
