Kathmandu, March 30
A woman, who was admitted to the Bir Hospital in Kathmandu after being suspected of coronavirus infection, has died on Monday afternoon.
Like two similar previous cases reported from Chitwan and Rupandehi, this woman was also waiting for her swab test report to confirm if she was infected. The men who died in Chitwan and Rupandehi later tested negative for the virus.
Bir Hospital director Dr Kedar Senchuri says the woman in the unconscious condition was brought to the hospital this morning. She is said to be a permanent resident of Chandragiri municipality-15 of Kathmandu.
“We learned that she returned to Nepal from India just a few days ago. While being admitted here, she had fever and problems in breathing,” the director says, “We suspected her of Covid-19, collected the samples and sent them to the National Public Health Laboratory. She was admitted to the emergency ward here.”
