Kathmandu, March 27
As many as 305 foreigners belonging to different countries have been jointly evacuated from Kathmandu on Friday morning, the fourth day of the week-long lockdown imposed to control the infection of the novel coronavirus in the country.
A Qatar Airways aircraft took off the Tribhuvan International Airport carrying the foreigners, mostly French and German nationals, informs the airport’s spokesperson Dev Chandra Lal Karna.
Meanwhile, 22 foreigners stranded in the Manaslu trekking route of the Gorkha district in western Nepal have been rescued. Those rescued include Argentines, Australians, Germans, Canadians, and Koreans, according to Gorkha District Administration Office’s administrative officer Harka Roka.
Earlier this week, dozens of foreigners stranded in the Annapurna trekking route had been rescued and brought to Kathmandu. Most of them were evacuated today.
