Mahottari sexagenarian shot at in the wee hours

Kathmandu, March 1

An elderly man was left injured when an unidentified person fired at him in Manarasisawa municipality-3 of Mahottari district in southeastern Nepal on Sunday.

The injured has been identified as 61-year-old Sahadev Prasad Yadav, a local resident.

According to DSP Madhav Budhathoki, Yadav was on his way to the toilet when the incident occurred at around 2 am today. The bullet hit Yadav below his chest. Yadav has been sent to Janaki Care Hospital for treatment and is out of danger, police said.

The police team has found two bullet shells and a bullet of a Chinese pistol from the incident site. However, the investigators are clueless about the suspects and their motives.

Further investigation is underway.
