Trader files proposal to ‘export’ vehicles from Nepal

Kathmandu, January 23

An automobile company in Nepal has proposed importing vehicles to ‘export’ them to other countries.

The proposal was filed by Ford’s official distributor in Nepal, GO Automobile, to export the vehicles to Bangladesh.

Currently, the Ministry of Finance is considering the proposal. If it endorses the proposal, Nepal wil be ‘exporting’ the vehicles without manufacturing them.

According to an official at the ministry, the company has proposed to sell the vehicles in Bangladesh with a hike of 5% in the price.

The vehicles, however, will not be entering the Nepali border, and no tax will be charged on them.
