The French Embassy in Kathmandu, the Alliance Française and the Beed Management organised a panel discussion on the idea of being alive, in Kathmandu on Thursday.

The discussion was a part of the new edition of ‘Night of Ideas’ hosted by the embassy.

In the discussion, heritage expert and documentary filmmaker Alok Tuladhar, climate change campaigner and policy analyst Bindu Bhandari, vlogger Jagannath Lamichhane and lecturer Swasti R Kayastha expressed their opinions.

Opening the discussion, the French Ambassador to Nepal, Francois-Xavier Léger, said,  “In this global world of challenges and opportunities, ideas and projects are emerging across various themes; and being able to celebrate this string of ideas is what being alive is all about.”

The goal of the Night of ideas (‘La Nuit des idées’) is to celebrate the stream of ideas between countries, cultures, topics and generations. Every year, the Night of ideas gives the opportunity to discover the latest discoveries in knowledge and arts, to listen to the ones who contribute to bringing more ideas to their field and to take part in the discussion about the main issues of our times, informs the embassy.
