Upendra Yadav quits govt after constitution amendment bid failed

Kathmandu, December 24

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Upendra Yadav submitted his resignation from the position after he failed to convince Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli to endorse a constitution amendment proposal.

A day after Oli stopped him from presenting the amendment proposal during the Cabinet meeting, Yadav tendered his resignation. Earlier, a meeting of his Samajwadi Party’s top leaders had decided to leave the government.
