Biratnagar, December 27
The Sunsari District Police Office has filed a case at the District Court, accusing religious leader Krishna Bahadur Giri aka Siddhababa of raping one of his followers. Following the registration of the charge sheet, the court is preparing to record his statement from Friday.
Police had arrested the religious leader 25 days ago from Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar of neighbouring Morang district. He spent the 25 days of remand in the hospital, complaining of several problems. Unable to keep him in custody, police have mobilised a head constable for his security in his hospital.
The court extended his remand for five times in the past month.
