The weeklong standing committee meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party has been over on Sunday. The meeting had begun on Sunday last week.
The meeting decided to call a central committee meeting on January 8, 2020, according to a leader. As the party held its standing committee meeting after several months last week, it has already been months since the central committee met last.
The meeting endorsed the political report presented by two chairmen–KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal with some amendments and suggestions. However, it decided to forward the party charter amendment proposal tabled by general secretary Bishnu Paudel to the central committee for further discussion, according to standing committee member Bhim Rawal.
