The government has set a new deadline for the Chabahil-Jorpati-Sankhu road repairing project, according to which the repairing works should be completed by June 2020. After widening, the road has been left without blacktopping for the past few years.

Shiva Hari Sapkota, a deputy director general at the Department of Roads, says the contractors have been told to complete the assignment by the first week of June. He assures that the government is ready to cooperate with them and provide the needful support.

Just two weeks back, a high-level government team including Kathmandu-2 House of Representatives member and senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Physical Infrastructure Minister Basanta Kumar Nembang had monitored the road, during which the locals had vented ire for keeping the road dusty for a long. Following the monitoring, the stakeholders held a meeting and set the new deadline.
