Tanahu locals capture one more leopard

Tanahu, November 24

Residents of villages in Tanahu district in western Nepal have captured one more leopard bringing the number of captured leopards to three.

The animal fell to a trap laid by members of the Majhuwaokhle Community Forest group, authorities said. This comes as residents of wards one, two and three of Bhanu Municipality, Tanahu live in fear of leopards, which have killed five and injured seven children in the past 18 months.

Officials said that although the animal was captured, they were not sure whether this was the man-eater leopard the village was looking for.
