A group of students on Monday manhandled the chief of Tri-Chandra College in Kathmandu.

The crowd entered the campus and beat up Pradeep Bahadur Neupane this morning, according to police. Neupane sustained minor injuries on a hand in the incident and he is undergoing treatment at Bir Hospital.

Meanwhile, police detained two persons for their alleged involvement in the incident. DSP Hobindra Bogati at the Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range says police arrested Mana Raj Thapa and Govinda Thapaliya.  Both of them are said to be members of the ruling Nepal Communist Party’s student wing.

Police have kept them at Darbarmarg-based Metropolitan Police Circle for further investigation.

Just a few days back, various student unions had jointly launched a protest against the college administration as it hiked the fees for science students.
