PM undergoes dialysis, to remain in hospital for a few days

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, who was hospitalised at Grande International Hospital on Wednesday, has undergone dialysis and will remain at the hospital for a few more days. However, the hospital has said that his health condition is normal and he will be discharged once his regular heath checkup is over.

SC orders police to keep ‘VIP gamblers’ in custody

The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the police administration to keep the six gambling suspects, who had registered a habeas corpus petition on Sunday seeking their release, in custody. A single bench of Justice Purushottam Bhandari issued the order on Wednesday while responding to the petition registered at the SC seeking the release of the gamblers.

Police had produced the ‘VIP gamblers’ at the court on Wednesday. Similarly, the SC has ordered the police administration to produce all 12 gamblers at the court on Thursday. The Kathmandu Metropolitan Police Range, Maharajgunj on October 27, arrested 25 gamblers from a gambling den in Maharajgunj in Kathmandu.

Indian citizen injured after gunshots in Gaur

Indian citizen Bijay Gupta has been injured after getting shot in the stomach in Gaur Municipality on Wednesday. Gupta was shot in the evening near Nepal Electricity Authority’s office. Police say they have not been able to identify the shooter and the search is ongoing. Gupta is being treated at the District Hospital.

Two more NCP candidates nominated for Kaski-2 by-election

The NCP provincial committee has nominated two more names to contest Kaski–2 by-elections. The district committee had recommended the widow of former Tourism Minister Rabindra Adhikari, Bidhya Bhattarai, to contest the by-polls due to take place on November 30. However, the provincial committee of the ruling party has also recommended Somnath Adhikari and Raj Kaji Gurung to be considered for the by-polls. The central committee of the ruling party had asked three names from the provincial committee.

Now, the central committee will pick one from among the three.
