Khadka to represent Team Abu Dhabi in T10 League

Paras Khadka has been signed by Team Abu Dhabi for the second edition of T10 league, due to take place in the UAE from November 15. According to a source, Khadka will get around $10,000 for his services. He will play under the captaincy of England international Moen Ali and will play with international players like Mohammad Amir, Corey Anderson, Rohan Mustafa, and Niroshan Dickwella.

Khadka joins becomes only the second Nepali to take part in the tournament.

Mahara remanded for seven more days

Kathmandu District Court, on Thursday, remanded former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara, who has been charged with sexual misconduct, to seven more days in police custody for investigation. This is the third time the court has extended his remand. Police have said they need more time for investigation as changing of statements by the accuser and the accused has made it difficult for the police to prepare a charge sheet.

NRNA leaves Laprak without completing project

Non-Resident Nepali Association has left Laprak without completing the construction of its model village. NRNA after the earthquake had said it would construct over 500 houses in Laprak in two years and hand it over to locals via a lottery. However, NRNA is yet to complete the construction of these houses. Now with NRNA pulling its hand out of the project, the future of the model village is in limbo. NRNA has cited a lack of funds as its reason to pull out of the project.

Endangered bear rescued from Lahan

Sneha’s Care, an animal welfare organisation, has rescued a sloth bear named ‘Dhutru’ from Lahan Municipality-13, Siraha district on October 21. The rescue was done in collaboration with the District Forest Office and local police authority.

The bear was brought to Kathmandu on Wednesday and has been handed over to the Central Zoo temporarily. The bear will be relocated to wildlife SOS Bear sanctuary in India.

Hunger strike at Everest Base Camp

Four youngsters staged a four-hour-long hunger strike at Everest Base Camp demanding people take climate change seriously. Journalist Birat Anupam, civil servant Suresh Karki, NCP leader Bhim Prasad Subedi and businessman Santosh Niraula stated a four-hour hunger strike on Wednesday.

The four had initially planned to stage a 24-hour hunger strike. However, due to bad weather, they could only do it for four hours.

PM Oli flight to Azerbaijan causes problem at airport

Flights at Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday were heavily affected due to PM KP Sharma Oli’s flight to Azerbaijan. The airport was closed for nearly 30 minutes which caused delays throughout the day. Both domestic and international flights were affected due to the closure.
