Army to take action against 27 on charge of irregularities during recruitment

Nepal Army (NA) is taking action against 27 people for alleged irregularities during the recent recruitment process. Out of the 27, four are army personnel and 23 are civilians.

According to the army’s directorate of public relations and information, an army man has been detained and an investigation has been ordered into accusations that he accepted bribes at the recruitment centre of Shree No 6 Battalion Office, Kailali.

Similarly, three examinees who took the exam at recruitment centre at North-West Division Headquarter allegedly forging papers have also been arrested.  Four more proxy exam candidates were nabbed from recruitment centres at Shree no 24 Brigade Office in Jumla and Shree No 6 Brigade Office in Kailali.

Search for the real examinees is underway.

Nepal Army is recruiting 5,800 army personnel for various posts through its 40 recruitment centres across the country as per its vacancy released on July 4, 2019.

The Chief of Army Staff Purna Chandra Thapa had emphasised that the recruitment process be free, fair and competitive since he took the leadership of one of the oldest institutions in the country, Nepal Army.
