Tourism Ministers tells ICAO aviation has become safe in Nepal

Kathmandu, September 26

Minister for Culture Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai has said the number of air crashes has gone down in Nepal in the past few years.

Speaking at the 40th general convention of the International Civil Aviation Organisation in Canada, Minister Bhattarai said that the rate of air accidents had significantly dropped in Nepal due to security provisions initiated by CAAN.

He also added that he was also in conversation with the European Commission to remove Nepal from its air safety blacklist. He added that Nepal was interested in making sure that aviation was safe on its skies and more efforts were in place to guarantee people didn’t lose lives due to air crashes.

Minister Bhattarai added that Nepal was making sure that its air traffic control was getting better and told foreign delegates that airports were being refurbished all over Nepal. He also added that a new international airport was on the horizon and the government was bringing new policies to make aviation better in the country.

He also invited everyone to present at the conference to visit Nepal in 2020.
