Police scour Janakpur temple after bomb scare

Police officials in Janakpur scoured the Janaki temple after reports said that a bomb had been planted in the area, but they could not find any explosives/

Police, after receiving ‘tip-off’ evacuated temple premises to conduct a search, but to no avail. Dhanusha Police Chief SP Shekhar Khanal said that police had also deployed sniffer dogs to look for explosives.

“We’ve been looking for it for a few hours but we haven’t found it yet. Maybe it’s a hoax, but we cannot take a risk. We are still on the lookout,” SP Khanal told Onlinekhabar.

SP Khanal added that the temple premises had been reopened to the public after they there checked for suspicious items.
