Kathmandu, September 24
Police in Kathmandu say they have arrested the top leader of the Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led Maoist party for the Kathmandu Valley.
A team deployed from the Nepal Police Headquarters arrested the party’s valley in-charge Nabin BK from Lalitpur last night. The government has banned activities of the party citing it promoted violence and terrorism.
Earlier in July, police had arrested the party’s incumbent valley in-charge Maila Lama. After the arrest, the party had delegated the authority to BK.
BK is also a former state minister for local development.
