Kathmandu, July 24
Nepal Rastra Bank Governor Chiranjibi Nepal is to present the central bank’s monetary policy amid a programme in Kathmandu on Wednesday afternoon.
The bank’s monetary policy for the Fiscal Year 2019/20 will be unveiled by Governor Nepal at Radission Hotel, Kathmandu, said Deputy Governor Chintamani Siwakoti. “The bank’s board has already approved the policy draft,” said Siwakoti. “The event will take place at 4 pm,” he added.
This year, the monetary policy speech, which succeeds the budget presentation, is being presented a week later than expected. Governor Nepal, who has been pushing commercial banks to enter into mergers, is expected to announce stringent measures to that effect.
