Birgunj, May 28
Two persons died after being buried under a mud mound in Birgunj of Parsa district in southern Nepal on Tuesday.
They were digging the land to lay foundation stone for the house of Rajaram Jalan at local Bypass Road in Birgunj-14.
The victims have been identified as Dasharath Pandit (50) of Itiyahi, Bishrampur Rural Municipality of the district, and Jawahir Ram, 50, from Parwanipur Rural Municipality-4 of Bara.
Three persons were buried in the incident and two of them died during treatment at a hospital, according to Ananta Ram Sharma, spokesperson at the District Police Office.
The third worker, Rajendra Ram, 45, is undergoing treatment at Gandak Hospital.
Meanwhile, the family of each victim would get Rs 600,000 compensation from the contractor, according to police.
