Kathmandu, April 28
Nepal have won the ACC U-16 Eastern Region Championship title by beating Malaysia in the final by 59 runs, in Thailand on Sunday.
Batting first, defending champions Nepal posted a modest total of 141.
Prashant Mahat topscored with 40 runs, followed by Deepak Bohora, who scored 23 runs. Rest of Nepal batsmen could not contribute more to the total.
They were all out in the 35th over.
In reply, Malaysia never got going. Only three of their batsmen were able to get into double figures and were all out in 34.5 overs for 81 runs.
Bishal Kumar Patel and Bohora shined with the ball picking up four and three wickets respectively.
