A Division League Football: 10 goals scored in a single game

The game between New Road Team and Machhindra Club saw 10 goals scored in a match for the first time in this season’s Martyr’s Memeorial A Division League.

The game ended in a 5-5 draw making it the highest scoring match of the season.

In an exciting half of football, Machhindra took an early lead through Vassadia Daimonde. However, their lead didn’t last as Machhindra scored an own goal in the eighth minute. But Machhindra quickly took the lead in the ninth minute when Bishal Rai scored. Goals from Khamir Kandanwa and Anil Gurung gave Machhindra a 4-1 lead in the 29th minute.

However, New Road Team showed character scoring three goals before the first half ended. Ashok Thapa scored a brace and Sushil Lama got on right at the stroke of half-time to put the game in the balance.

The second half which was quite dull compared to the first half was light up when Rai scored his second goal giving Machhindra the lead. However, in the 85th Kaisho Gyan netted the equaliser to break Machhindra hearts.

NRT with this draw are bottom of the league with 6 points from 12 games while Machhindra are 12th in the league and are only a point above NRT.
