Nepali Congress youth leader held with pistol, sword in Nawalparasi

Kathmandu, July 23

A youth leader of Nepali Congress in Nawalparasi district in Province 5 has been arrested in possession of a pistol and a sword on Sunday.

The arrestee has been identified as Kishor Acharya, a district committee member of Nepal Tarun Dal, the youth wing of main opposition.

A permanent resident of Dhrubatol, Bardaghat Municipality-10 of the district, he was arrested from local TCN Chok of the  town at around 7:30 pm yesterday.

Police Inspector Rajendra Bhatta of the District Police Office says police had frisked him after finding his activities suspicious.

The suspect has been kept at the custody of District Police Office. He will face a case under the Arms and Ammunition Act, 1962.
