Abhaya And The Steam Injuns Launch YouTube Channel With A Beautiful Cover Of Heera Devi Waiba’s ‘Udho Jaada’

Abhaya and the Steam Injuns are one of the most prominent rock bands Nepali music industry has ever produced. Probably the only female led band in Nepal that has been rocking for over a decade now, are all set to release their fourth album ‘Looking For Love’ later this year. Even though the album is all set for its release, you might have to wait for a couple of more months to get a copy of it. In the meantime, the band has launched their official YouTube channel. Despite being around for over 12 years, it’s for the first time they have their very own channel. Introducing the channel to her fans, the lead vocalist of the band Abhaya Subba stated, “This is our first music video on our very own AATSI channel. We hope that this is the beginning of a fun journey between our audience and us. It only seems right to publish a song that we have been deeply influenced by since the very beginning of all our musical voyage.”

We have to give it up to AATSI for their guts of choosing to cover ‘Udho Jaada’ by the legendary Darjeeling folk singer Heera Devi Waiba. It could have gone terribly wrong and it was quite a risk choosing this classic number, but guess what, they have done absolute justice to this beautiful song. The best thing about this rendition is that it keeps the essence of the original. A big round of applause to Abhaya Subba who has done a wonderful job with her powerful vocals and the musicians who kept the charm of the original music alive. Overall, this is a soothing and very honest rendition of a masterpiece. We look forward to listen to such amazing songs from the band in future as well. And of course, we are super duper excited for their new album too. For now, listen to this rendition of ‘Udho Jaada’ and comment below what you think of it. And do not forget to subscribe to the band’s channel HERE. Enjoy!
