Jhapa, August 6
Police in Jhapa district of eastern Nepal have arrested a man for allegedly raping own wife.
Police made the arrest acting on a complaint filed by the suspect’s 22-year-old wife in Birtamod Municipality of the district.
The alleged victim has claimed in her complaint that her husband would force serve to sex frequently. She also adds that the man would also frequently go out of contact and come back only when he wanted sex.
DSP Krishna Prasad Koirala, Chief at the Birtamod Area Police Office, says police will file a marital rape case against the suspect after completing the investigation.
Further investigation is underway.
