Rolpa, July 2
Three persons including a new mother and her infant child were killed when a landslide buried their house in Soibang, Runtigadhi Rural Municipality-5 of Rolpa district on Monday, according to the District Police Office.
The victims have been identified as Kamala BK (22), her 18-year-old daughter Ayusha and her 15-year-old niece Chitra. Chitra is the daughter of brother of Kamala’s husband.
According to police, the trio were keeping themselves warm by sitting around the fire so as to combat the cold induced by the incessant rainfall. However, the rainfall made a wall outside their house collapse and it triggered a landslide.
